Cancer
cancers are a complex group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells. It can affect nearly any part of the body and is caused by genetic mutations, environmental factors and lifestyle choices. There are many types of cancers including breast, cervix, uterine and vulval cancers each with its own symptoms and treatment protocols. Early detection through screening and advances in treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy have significantly improved survival rates. However cancers remains a leading cause of death worldwide highlighting the importance of ongoing research, prevention and education effort.
